We acquire old family bibles. Then we research the family to find living descendants of the original owners of the bible. When we find a home for the bible, we contact the people and send the bible to them. We emphasize that we do not expect anything in return and will not accept payment or even reimbursement for shipping costs. Knowing that the bibles have returned home to their families is very rewarding to us.
When we started the project, we purchased old bibles from eBay and thrift shops. Before long people began donating bibles to us so we no longer have to buy them. In addition to the old bibles, we sometimes find homes for orphaned scrapbooks and photo albums.
